BITS & PIECES OF OUR LIFE, OUR THOUGHTS, AND WHAT WE DO!

What's in a Name?

On December 2, 2010 our sweet baby Sam was born! Looking much like his older brother, he was 10 days early, where his older brother was 8 days later than his due date and weighed 3 lbs more than Sam at birth. Whit's "mini-me" has completely captivated us and changed our lives and family more than we could have ever imagined!

At some point I want to document our adoption testimony on here, but honestly just need the time to sit down and write - it will take a while to get my thoughts in order. It's something I've been praying about and feeling that God is laying on my heart to write about - hopefully it will help someone else going through a similar situation to ours.

Sam is named after his Great Uncle Sam (who is in a tie with my Uncle Willie as my favorite uncle), who passed away at the end of November 2009. Uncle Sam's death was a shock to our family and one of the hardest things we've ever experienced. Until his death no one close to me had ever died (except for my Papa Vogler and he was much older and had lived a full live). Uncle Sam was only 50 years old and one day was here with us and the next was gone without warning.

Sam's middle name is Lee, after Kevin's deceased paternal grandmother, Laura Lee Robertson, and his favorite Uncle, Dan.

Samuel Lee Robertson certainly has been a blessing to us and one that we had never imagined! In all honesty we figured we would simply be a family of 3, and were content with that. But God, in all of His greatness, figuratively "dropped" this baby into our laps without us having to do a thing - except pray and surrender our family to Him. I love how awesomely and amazingly God works!

Here is Sam with his Great Aunt Jackie and big brother, Whit. Aunt Jackie is my Uncle Sam's wife.
