On Sunday afternoon, I was feeling a wee bit better after battling a cold / fever all weekend and working all day Saturday at our MOPS Consignment Sale, so we ventured to Patterson Farm in Mt. Ulla in search of the perfect pumpkin!
We soon discovered that Patterson Farm has so much fun things to do besides just pick out a pumpkin! Whit enjoyed feeding the goats and seeing the other animals (chickens, peacock, pigs, birds, horses) in the stable.
He also loved the bee barn and wanted to touch the honey that the bees were making (behind glass).
We next ventured into the corn maze. He loved chasing after us!
They also had a corn pit for the kids to play in. With all of this corn, I couldn't help but think of my friend, Becky, who has a corn allergy - this place would have been a corn nightmare for her!
Whit played on the pirate ship shaped playground.
We next went to the face-painting station where Whit got (surprise) a train stamped onto his face. Not exactly festive for fall, but a fan-favorite of course! Ha!
Whit and Daddy went over to see the pig races while Mommy stood in line and waited for the hayride.
Fun times on the hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins!
It took Whit a while to search through the field of pumpkins to find the one he wanted!
Finally we settled on a pumpkin fit for jack-o-lantern carving!
We got back on the tractor trailer and headed down to the patch with the smaller pumpkins for Whit to pick out one especially for him.
We finished off our afternoon with an ice cream cone and Whit enjoyed a nice long nap on the ride home!

Ha! I do have to be very choosy about where we go to have a fun fall experience that is mostly corn-free :)
