First Movie

At the end of June, my good friend, Suzanne, and I took our (newly turned) 3-year-olds to see their first movie in a theater - Toy Story 3. Suzanne's good friend, Elizabeth, and her 3-year-old, Ella Drew, met us there and the 3 mamas and three 3-year-olds bought our tickets, got our 3D glasses, secured the popcorn and soda required for optimum movie viewing, and found our seats in a theater in Winston-Salem one blistering hot Wednesday afternoon. Surprisingly enough, all 3 children sat still during the movie (minus the inevitable potty breaks, of course), aside from the fact that Whit would not wear his 3D glasses and likely enjoyed his popcorn and Sprite more than the movie itself! Ha! Here's a picture of Whit just before we walked in to get our seats. He has his ticket and 3D glasses in hand and is giving me the "stink eye" saying non-verbally, "Mom, can you stop taking pictures so we can get this show on the road, please? I've got warm buttery popcorn to eat and 16 oz of Sprite to gulp!"
He has since talked about Woody several times, a main character in the movie, and actually got a Woody doll along with Woody's horse, Buckeye, as a birthday present the week before we saw the movie (which of course meant nothing to him until he had seen the movie). He also loves Frosted Shredded Mini-Wheats and Woody and Buzz Lightyear are currently on the box, so he likes to put the box on the kitchen table with him while he eats breakfast so "Woody can watch me." All in all, the experience was great and we're looking forward to our next flick!
