"The" Shirt

This is it..."THE" shirt...the one he asks to wear every day...the one he would like to sleep in, go to school in, and take a bath in - all in one day, if only we'd let him.

Up to this point, we've been so lucky that Whit has not protested clothing nor been one to show any interest in what we were putting on him.  That is until his latest addiction obsession fondness of anything and everything related to Thomas the Tank Engine. This red t-shirt is a hand-me-down from Whit's cousin, J.T. It's been worn and washed so much that it's nice and soft. The comfort of the fabric is not why Whit wants to wear it all the time, however, it's the logo on the front and back.

We've tried other train t-shirts...Kevin's mom bought him one from Wal-Mart just to have a rotation among his demand request to wear the same shirt every day. He can tell it's not a "real" Thomas shirt - he can tell that the train is not one of Thomas's Friends either. It has to be authentic - not a Thomas poser.

So far we've been able to coax him into not wearing it every day because it's "dirty" on the other days he doesn't wear it. He always wears the shirt every Monday (mostly because we do laundry on the weekends so he knows it's clean) and after school a lot of days he asks to put it on whenever he gets home. I don't know what we'll do when the "dirty" excuse won't work anymore.

Thankfully we're going to see Thomas at Tweetsie in June after Kevin and I get back from Africa so we'll be sure to get a new t-shirt then.
